Open Times Music has been set up to provide songwriters with an independent, transparent and honest music publishing service. 

We aim to help songwriters avoid many of the pitfalls they might meet as they progress their songwriting / performing careers.

It's easy to be swayed by 'cheque book' deals on offer from some of the major companies.

You might be handed  money up front, but then find yourself lost in a sea of a thousand other songwriters and a million other songs;  with a bad deal which ties you down for years! 

As an independent company, we are not tied to any other organisation. We won't forget who you are, or lose track of your songs. We'll respond to you, answer your questions, address your concerns and offer advice and a second opinion, if and when you need it.

Who We Are

Pete McGlinchey -Managing Director:

I began my career in the music industry in the best way possible.

I joined Dick James Music in the heady days when Dick looked after The Beatles' catalogue for Northern Songs and Elton John was still a struggling singer / songwriter. 

DJM was the epitome of an independent, entrepreneurial music company and I learned a huge amount about the music business in my time there.

I went on to hold senior positions with major music companies such as ATV Music Pub. (bought by  Michael Jackson), CBS Songs, SBK Songs, EMI Music Pub.,  Sony/ATV Music Pub. 

I am passionate about songwriters and songs, having worked on the catalogues of major songwriter/artists such as: The Beatles, Oasis, Elton John, Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, Pearl Jam, Joni Mitchell, David Crosby, Steven Stills, Graham Nash, Steve Winwood, The Manic Street Preachers, The Pretenders, Travis, A-Ha, The Fugees, Sade, Leonard Cohen & UB40 to name but a few.    

However, I don't live in the past! I love live music and I have very wide musical tastes. I also think today's generation of songwriters is as good as any, which is why I am so keen to work with them and hopefully see their careers blossom.
