GUY FLETCHER - new PRS FOR MUSIC Chairman

Our dear friend and legendry song-writer GUY FLETCHER, OBE, has been elected to be the new CHAIRMAN of PRS FOR MUSIC !

We are delighted for Guy, and congratulate him on his election - PRS FOR MUSIC and it's members can only benefit from his vast industry experience, and knowledge.

SANDWEAVER "Back Into The Studio" !

Sandweaver, who this year joined us at our table for the BRIGHTON MUSIC AWARDS, are recording again this month  at SOUNDLOCKER STUDIOS with some new tracks that look to define a new era forSandweaver.

Following on from the success of "Back Into The Middle" the guys are hoping to add four more tracks to their catalogue, and will also be announcing some gigs in the new year

Stewart Francke has joined forces with KICKSTARTER to finance his new album This means Stewart's fans can sponsor the album in return for special rewards that range from a free pre-release copy of the album, to a private performance by Stewart in your own living room !  SUPERLUNGS will be playing at the prestigious BRIGHTON MUSIC AWARDS on 16th November at THE BRIGHTON CENTRE - this is great hi-profile exposure for these guys - they really deserve it !

SEPTEMBER  2010

KOVAK HAVE BEEN NOMINATED FOR THE  "BAND OF THE YEAR"  AWARD at the BRIGHTON MUSIC AWARDS - to be made at the Brighton Centre on the 16th November 2010. Roger Daltrey and Jimmy Page will be amongst the many guest presenters - please - if you haven't already - vote for KOVAK now at www.brightonmusicawards.com  each vote costs just 50p & goes to the Teenage Cancer Trust

JULY 2010

Sandweaver's track "NAVIGATOR", and Kovak's "TIMES RUNNING OUT" and "MY BOYFRIEND IS A ROCKSTAR" have been licensed to feature in the Canadian TV programme"MAKE IT OR BREAK IT" airing this month in North America .......thanks to our amazing representatives CASABLANCA in Canada for arranging this for us.

16th June 2010:  FUJIFILM are using KOVAK's "ELECTRIC CITY LIGHT'S"  in a new online advertising campaign - and SUPERDRUG are to feature KOVAK in 200 stores in an unsigned bands promotion

Kovak will play a short set at Brighton’s popular media and arts networking event, The Space with special guest legendary producer William Orbit.

The Orb's Alex Paterson will be DJ'ing at CLUB KOVAK at AUDIO, Marine Parade, Brighton on Sunday 30th May 2010 (Bank Holiday) along with special guests THE WOO'WORTHS!,  VIDEODROME and BATTERY POWERED DJ'S, who will be supporting KOVAK

Another KOVAK song is to feature in a movie - "SEX ELECTRIC" appears in the new film "The Big I Am" on release from 8th April 2010.

Not one for the kids this one -  A small-time crook is catapulted into the big leagues as head of a brutal London gang - swith a cast that included Phil Davis, Paul Kaye and Steven Berkoff

January 2010

Open Times Music have issued a worldwide Synch Licence for KOVAK's "DEATH INTHE DISCO" to be used in the film "SCOTTISH BOB". The film is a dark comedy. Bob Franklin plays an unreliable brother that attends his sister’s funeral in the hope that there might be something in it for him.The film is also a competitor in the TropFest Short Film Festival .

October 2009

Open Times Music, together with Yellow Fish Music, have just signed an agreement with Freedom Girl Produtions, licensing SUPERLUNGS single LA DI DA for use in the American film 'All Ages Night' which is due out early 2010!!!

All Ages Night is about a teenage rock band who believes that one night on stage will change their lives forever...

We are soooo pleased to announce that Open Times Music have signed KOVAK to a worldwide music publishing deal.  This wonderful Brighton band, who's happy electro dance pop has had us fascinated and awe inspired for a long time, are simply infectious !

Already we have had lots of interest in the band from our contacts at MTV Europe, and MTV New York, and in Japan this year they had a No.1 hit courtesy of their

 largest Breakfast radio station. The album, HEROES AND HIGH HEELS" is now on i-tunes, Amazon and 7 digital.

Stewart began his musical career playing bass for Chuck Berry. He has supported and played with renowned artists such as Steve Winwood, Earth Wind & Fire and Sheryl Crow. He has produced 10 albums of his own material, some using musicians from the Motown backing band - The Funk Brothers.

Bruce Springsteen said of him “Yeah I've heard Stewart Francke...he makes beautiful music."

His songwriting is influenced by artists as diverse as Marvin Gaye and Brian Wilson and could be tagged as American Soul, Rock, R & B or even Gospel, but whatever “tag” you want to put on his Stewart's style, it would always be preceded by “classy”.`

 "Superlungs" are are 3 young guys from Sussex and what they lack in years they more than make up for in talent.

At the tender age of 15 they already have a record deal in place with Yellow Fish Records.
